Nanjing Awards for Distinguished Scientists attending World Congress of Soil Science 2026

1. Introduction

The Soil Science Society of China (SSSC) are delighted to launch the World Congress of Soil Science 2026 (WCSS2026) Nanjing Awards to recognize and support distinguished scientists in the field of soil science who can contribute significantly to the Congress, to be held from 7-12 June 2026 in Nanjing, China.

This Awards aims to engage influential researchers who will deliver high-quality oral presentations and actively promote the congress within their professional and social networks. A limited number of winners (ca. 30) will be selected and each will receive up to USD $2,000 to support their participation, including registration fee, flight tickets, and accommodation. 

2. Eligibility and Requirements

Applicants must be established scientists with a recognized record of achievement and influence in soil science. Applications must be submitted in English to wcss2026@issas.ac.cn by 24:00 (UTC+8) on 7 February 2026, and include the following:

a) Application letter (PDF) indicating the requested funding amount (max. $2,000 USD) and a brief statement of how you will promote WCSS2026.

b) Curriculum Vitae (PDF, max. two pages) including education, professional experience, and selected publications.

c) The submitted abstract and its received confirmation from WCSS2026.

3. Selection and Announcement

A Selection Committee from WCSS2026 Executive Committees will review all applications. Successful winners will be notified via email by 28 February 2026 (UTC+8). Results will also be posted on the official WCSS2026 (https://www.23wcss.org.cn/) and International Union of Soil Sciences (https://www.iuss.org) websites.
